Dear Joy Bundlers,

Let’s keep this brief and to the point so that I can go back to hugging and feeding my new son. Yes, that’s right, my wife and I adopted a perfect little human being three weeks ago, and we’re extraordinarily happy and sleep deprived).

I’m playing two very exciting shows this weekend in Savannah: one loud, the other soft. So pick your decibel level and your bedtime and come on out for what will be my last show for many a month (while I learn how to raise a little boy and finish recording the new record).

On Saturday I’ll play loud at the Wormhole, Savannah’s best bar for live music. My full band, the Blackstock Collection, will make the long drive from Atlanta to be there. Supporting will be Savannah’s fresh young pop-cannibals General Oglethorpe and the Pandhandlers and Atlanta’s newest hottest 9-piece thang, Oryx and Crake. (See the Connect article, here.) Then the next night, Sunday, I’ll play an early, soft set at Savannah’s other best venue for live music, the Sentient Bean. Supporting me will be the critically acclaimed 8-piece from California, The Red River.

The Big Nifty

• Recording: Working on the new record! Taking a break to hug and feed my new son. Aiming to record trombone and other noisemakers come late December.

• Website: Got a new, nifty, dynamic one in the works. We’re hoping to launch in December.

• Videos: Got two new videos (well, actually, they’re films) made! You’ll see those soon, too.
